Effects of Anchor Borrowers Programme on Rice Farming in Benue State, Nigeria

The study analyzed effects of Anchor Borrowers Programme on rice farming in Benue State, Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling technique was used to select 125 beneficiary farmers the anchor borrowers’ programme. Data were collected using structured questionnaire and descriptive statistics, multiple regression analysis factor analysis. results from revealed that productivity positively significantly determined by farm size at P≤ 0.01 but negatively influenced seed fertilizer P≤0.01 0.05 levels. R2 0.43 implies 43% variability accounted for explanatory variables included model. result amount credit/inputs mode loan repayment area had mostly programme received N50, 000.00 paid back their as part-payment cash. Certain limited factors such socio-economic factors, economic institutional constrained farmers’ access credit other inputs It concluded production not optimally productive. recommended should be advised expand lands ensure efficient utilization resources increased productivity. Also, policies will make accessible go a long way addressing inefficiency problems.
